I had this happen when I had my 2003, I thought it was my brake box, but I found out that if you have the climate control set to blow out the vents, which is all the way counter clockwise, it is like it is trying to move the door under the dash too far and I would get a clicking sound.2020 Duramax thumping sound. While test driving I noticed a ticking sound from 1100 rpm till short of 3000rpm. If I´m flooring it it goes away and nothing at idle or very light acceleration.No its not hurting it. My LBZ has a ticking noise when it idles sometimes. The injector ballance rates are very good, as the truck has 40k on it. I can't locate it, it's easily heard from both passenger and drivers side of truck. It isn't noisy any other time.
